The world as we have known it is changing forever, long gone are the days of job security – almost any type of security for that matter.

Current demands of life mean that now is the time to start and look after your own interests. What I mean by that is that you need to consider having more than one income stream, so if your main source of income disappears then all is not lost.

It may already be too late and you need work now, don’t be fooled, the internet is not an instant answer, apart from perhaps selling your own stuff on ebay. Some people claim to be able to show you how to make an online fortune in days, a few maybe do – my experience is that they’re usually selling nothing more than snake oil!

Be warned – much of the information being sold about ‘How to’ in the online world, is old recycled information, much of which contains techniques that no longer work.

When it comes to information, I’ll show you how to check whats being sold to you, methods which could save you a lot of money, and also prevent you from being scammed. You’ll be amazed by the results and you may find that what one person is selling, another may well be giving away for free!

Should you have no current work, it may be that you at least have the time to be able to learn new skills. You can learn lots in a short time, and any skills gained will equip you better in the internet era, potentially even help with future employment prospects.

I hate to admit it, but on more than one occassion in the past I have fallen into this trap, you get into a ‘comfort zone’, and whilst it’s all nice an cosy, and everythings tickety boo – you just carry on, almost oblivious to the fact that it may not last – and, as recent events have shown – no one is safe!

My purpose in here is to share with you things that may help you to take a different direction, perhaps learn how to build a website, to promote you and your skills or your business.

There’s no reason why you can’t set up you own website or online shop, there are more than enough free tools around. Indeed, many of the shops you come across online are based on freely available scripts and software. You just need to know where to find them and how to use them – that’s where I come in…

There is of course a learning curve in anything new – but I can assure you, I know people who previously could just about deal with email who are now able to manage their own website very effectively.

No more having to pay or wait for someone else to do it – you can learn these skills in a short time, were talking days not weeks. You’ll find much of the information here on this site, or links to where you can find what you need.

Some of what you need is freely available, some is not – so do be prepared to invest a little money in your own future. Free hosting space and domain names are no way to promote yourself or your business!
